... No i seriously Love This Lamp!! Fuck a couch!



Korean designer Ji Young Shon has created the most perfect Lamp ever. You just place one of the simplistic designs- either larger or desk sized, in the corner & you have one sexy source of light.

I'm pretty obsessed with purchasing the taller of the lamps because it would fit perfectly in one of the many (low lit) corners of my house. And they're sick... too bad i can't find where to buy one but, I will. I will.

The Penguin Pops Up in NYC

Original Penguin has opened a 'pop up' store available now thru Dec. 31, 09 in SoHo. 103 Greene Street (bet. Spring St. & Prince St.) NY, NY 10012 to be exact.

Original Penguin's been around a looong time (c.1950's) and the clothes kinda reflect that in a cool, book-wormy, computer geek sorta way- Perfect for the classic Fall & Winter NYC look. Ex: Adam Brody (Seth from the OC) is a fan... that kinda look.

Seeing as how I usually order their super soft, comfy sweaters and the occasional bubble skirt that looks like wrapping paper (MISTAKE!) on-line, I am really excited about this. Im definitely heading there to scoop a few new (incredibly well made, luxurious) cardigans & to try on some of their pants & fitted tees so i wont be as surprised when I get them as I was with the effin skirt...










I'll stop raving about these quality sweaters now because I'm pretty sure you get the picture. And if you wanna be a part of the 'official' opening, here's the invite.

Alice in Waterland

This. Is. Mind-blowing!!
To take a childrens story and set it underwater is fantastically innovative but, the way underwater photographer Elena Kalis executed this is just amazing.






I love how the Cheshire Cat was converted into a shark; how they incorporated the flamingos by using a balloon; the urgency of the Queen of Hearts leading Alice and how the model for Alice (Kalis' daughter Sasha) animates the character perfectly underwater. Perfection.

Fafi, the French graffiti artist whose collaborated with errrr'1 from MAC to Le Sportsac and even on Lily Allen's "Oh My God" video, is at it again, teaming with upcoming NYC based girls graffiti tee designers Kweenz Destroy.

While there's only one design of a YFF (young, fresh, fLy) 'Fafinette' you can get it on either a tee shirt or tank top.

I really ♥ Fafi and even have a print of hers so you know I'm copping one. I think I'm going with the tee. Fafinettes are adorably whorish... and maaaaybe a good Halloween costume?! Hmmm..........

Any guy with a dick errr heartbeat would let the chica wearing these walk all over them.... amongst other things. ;-)

And with a name like "Kane" these boots imply kink with every lil stud, spike, zipper and belt attachment. Being from 'Shaolin' you have to rep the Wu. Everyone has a story of how they met This member or smoked with That member. And who doesn't have at least 5 Method Man autographs? Chasing Meth around the mall for one is like a Staten Island teenager's right of passage!

It's been such a long time since a Wu member has come out with such a strong, anxiously awaited CD. I'm glad it's Rae- I couldn't take another "Pretty Tony"-like album. And after the success of the purple tape and how many MC's styles it inspired... I can't wait to see what happens with this go-round.

I am LOVING that Wu-Tang is back and has come together for the purpose of their brother Raekwon. The Chef explains what had to be done to cook this project up

New Couch?

So I need a couch. Right now I'm working with beach chairs. That's right- Mother. Ufckin. Beach chairs!! I'm not going into debt or opening up a store card for a couch, and I lothe IKEA's couches- they're wack.

Well on my hunt, i've found a perfect (for me) couch. It's dark and macabre and customizable (♥!).



They're Coffin Couches! Made by a SoCal company that takes UNUSED caskets and turns them into gorgeous customized couches. This one's called Purple Haze (I had to!).

Kat Von D and Jesse James are proud owners and you can even find one in the LA County Coroners office.




I've picked my colors already- a smokey white swirl on a black casket with robin's egg blue leather. Now I'm just waiting for someone to give me the $3,500 that it costs. Gramma, are you reading this?? (*Hint hint)
